Armenia is a country of unique culture and nature. It has a rich history full of legends, myths (like those of Noah's Ark on Mount Ararat, the journey of Marco Polo on the Silk Road etc.). Discover Armenian various nature: mountainous landscapes, admirable canyons, deep forests and fertile Ararat valley. Our Road is starting from the North part of Armenia from mountainous and forested region of Tavush, to south part Vayots Dzor region with its mysterious caves, deep gorges and high mountains and finally to the capital of Armenia: ancient and modern city Erevan. Erevan is one of the oldest cities in the world, 29 years older than Rome. The warm and friendly city will make you feel at home.......

Day 1

Arrival in Yerevan - Cottage Camp

Arrival to Yerevan. Transfer to the overnight tourist camp passing through the high mountains, lake Sevan and mountainous resort Dilijan. Welcome dinner and overnight in cottages.

Day 2

Trekking in Tavush, Trail of lovers (5.5 hours, 7km)

The path runs through the forest sparsely past thickets of blackberries and wild rose, meadow with strawberries and mint bushes. From multicolor Glade a wonderful view opens on the gorge Hachahpyur. Continuation of the route goes through the woods leads to the "Tree of Love". It's said that if you put both hands and make a wish, it's comes true. The rise becomes steeper, passing the Path of the Hermit. The route back goes through small woods and meadows (2 500m).

Return to the camp. The program includes lunch and dinner.

Day 3

Trekking in Tavush (5 hours, 4km)

Breakfast. Trekking to the Stars hill. Two different paths are available – through the fields or the forest, the choice of which depends on the weather. Beautiful sights are on each path. The tour is organized all around the year. The altitude varies from 1330-630m. The journey takes five hours. The trekking route goes through the forest, fields and medows. The first stop is near the newly discovered church. Then it’s Star-hill on 1106 m above sea level. Before times a tower was there, instead of a hill. Then slow descent into the canyon. The final destination is the village and farther the garden which surprises with the variety of fruit that can be tasted just from the trees… Collecting some herbs for the evening tea.

Return to the camp. The program includes lunch and dinner.

Day 4

Sevan - Selim - Vayots Dzor (4hours, 235km by bus)

Breakfast at the camp before driving onto Sevan Lake (1 hour, 80 km), one of the great mountainous freshwater lakes of Eurasia. Climb to Akhtamar Peninsula where breathtaking panoramic views open on Sevan Lake. Visit of the 9th century Sevanavank Monastery. Continuation to Noratous "forest of khachkars" (cross-stones), dating as far back as 996.

Driving (2.5 hours) to Vayots Dzor, visiting on way Selim Pass Caravansary.

O/N the cottages camp near Yeghegis village. The program includes lunch and dinner.

Day 5

Trekking in Vayots Dzor - Kalasar Fortress Ruins (4.5 hours, 4.2km)

Breakfast. Trekking to the Kalasar Fortress ruins, located above abandons Hermon village. The fortress is located at the peak of the mountain, with remnants of walls and living quarters. The peak of the fort has a 360 degrees view of the surrounding landscapes.

Return to the camp for overnight. The program includes lunch and dinner.

Day 6

VayotsDzor - Goghtanik Waterfall (4hours, 3.8 km)

Breakfast at the camp. The route goes along the Yeghegis River for 2.1km before reaching the cave, where there is a wonderful panorama of the Yeghegis Valley. There are five chambers in the cave, the largest about 9meters deep, with evidence of ibexes, eagles and other birds dwelling there. Climbing down from the cave and heading along the river bank another 1.3 km, we reach the 12 meters waterfall where it is possible to swim.

Return to the camp for overnight. The program includes lunch and dinner.

Day 7

Khor Virap Monstery - Yerevan (150 km,2.5 hours)

Breakfast at the camp and check out. Drive (110km, 1hours 50 min.) to the Khor Virap monastery – the place of imprisonment of St. Gregory the Illuminator accused of preaching Christianity and imprisoned in the small dungeon for 13 years. Possibility to visit the dungeon pit. Here is also the closest and most spectacular view of the gorgeous biblical mountain Ararat shining with its two white peaks.

Drive to Yerevan (40 km, 1 hours). Stop at Republic square. Walk to Cascade complex, which is considered the modern art center of Yerevan, with art pieces displayed throughout the whole area: the boulevard and up the stairs, from top of which you can enjoy the panoramic view on the city and Mountain Ararat. Coffee break in one of the cozy open-air cafes surrounded by beautiful sculptures, redolent flowers shining brightly with magic colors.
