Noraduz is the cemetery, located near Sevan Lake, and looks like field full of well preserved khachkars or cross stones of medieval times. It represents the pearl of medieval Christian culture. Noraduz is one of the biggest villages, located on right bank of river Gavara. Saint Astvadzdzin church is located in the center, it was built by the prince of Gegharqunik Sahak Ishkhan in the 9th century. On the edge of the village another church –St Gregory the Illuminator – is to be found. The church was built in 9th-10th centuries. But Noraduz is mostly famous for its cemetery where large collection of Khachqars is preserved. Most of them date back to 13-17 centuries and they are situated by families and clans. It has now become the biggest collection of Khachqars, after the previousbiggest collection was destroyed by Azerbaijan in Nakhijevan, Old Jugha town, some years ago. In Noraduz near the place called Shor-Gol Bronze and Iron Ages tombs were discovered, with arrows, jewellery and other artefacts.
