Cafesjian Museum Foundation
10 Tamanyan St, Yerevan 0009Established in 2002 by the Cafesjian Museum Foundation in the United States, the Cafesjian Museum Foundation in Yerevan was created to house a museum of contemporary art and serve as a cultural center. The Republic of Armenia provided the museum with space and the partially completed Cascade Complex as its venue.
The museum’s founding benefactor, Gerard L. Cafesjian, contributed his extensive private art collection to the institution. The museum, designed by New York architect David Hotson, aspires to be Armenia’s leading center for artistic creativity and self-expression, actively engaging with the art-loving public. Its primary mission is to showcase and celebrate global visual arts, bringing international art closer to the Armenian community and beyond.
