History Museum of Armenia

The History Museum of Armenia is a nationally significant cultural institution that has been preserving Armenia’s heritage for over a century. Established by Armenia’s first parliament in 1919, it originally opened as the Ethnographic-Anthropological Museum-Library in 1921 and has since evolved into today’s History Museum of Armenia.

With a collection of around 400,000 items, the museum offers a comprehensive view of Armenian history and culture from prehistoric times to today. It features departments dedicated to archaeology, numismatics, ethnography, modern history, and restoration. In addition to conservation, the museum also supports educational and scientific research, regularly publishing works on Armenian history, archaeology, and culture.
