Mher Mkrtchyan Museum
30 Shota Rustaveli str., GyumriEstablished in 2004, the Mher Mkrtchyan Museum in Gyumri honors the life and legacy of the renowned Armenian theater and cinema actor. The museum offers an intimate glimpse into Mkrtchyan’s career, showcasing his personal items, photographs, letters, and stage memorabilia.
Highlights include iconic props like the commode from Tango of Our Childhood and the gallicon from The Orchestra Boys, along with his stage costumes. Visitors can also view the numerous awards Mkrtchyan received throughout his illustrious career.
In 2007, Mkrtchyan’s granddaughter, Iren Terteryan, enriched the collection by donating 1,500 of his personal belongings.
The museum frequently hosts cultural events, thematic matinees, and educational programs, fostering a vibrant connection between Mkrtchyan’s artistic legacy and the public.
